Hi folks, sorry for not update longtaime!!
as for this time, There is the step by step of my painting style.

This time, I prepared the MDF board of 8"x8".
MDF board can be easily processed with the cutter. The edge is cut down, and it keeps smooth.
The canvas recycles an unnecessary part when a large-scale work was made.
It pulls and it tears up the canvas. It pastes it to MDF board with the medium.

1) base

2) Gesso
Gesso of thinning solved by water is painted 2-3 times with the brush.

3) Dry & Clean
Gesso is dried with the drier. It removes lightly scrubbing the hair that was able to be taken from the brush by the hand.

4) Primary Color
The base color of the background is colored.

5) Shadow
A dark color is quick colored with the brush.

6) Masking
To draw the line, masking is done.

7) White
White is quick painted.

8) Remove
Masking is removed. The part of the remainder also paints white.

9) Sanding
The surface is rubbed a little with the #180 sandpapers.

10) Primary Color of Human
Person's base color is colored.

11) Hair Color
The hair color is painted.

12) Hi & Shadow
hi^color and shadow color of skin were painted.

13) Black Line
Indian ink putting with paint.

14) Brown
Red brown of thinning is painted outside in the black line. It rubs with the cloth to contain water when drying it with the drier.

15) Finish Work
Brown thinned by water is painted on the whole with a fat flat brush. It wipes off with the cloth quickly.

I made Paper theater this year too.
The front side was open in last year's paper theater. However, this year's paper theater is a complete blockage type.

An internal structure is composed of two rooms.

There is the woods and the background of the sky in the interior.

When light enters it from the ceiling from among the room, the interior became more beautiful.

A warm room of the paper theater looks better when the environmental lighting is darkened.

The secret where it looks warm it in the room is this penlite. ;)

New Sculpture Project [day6]

It's fine day today!
At first I did white primer work. When I made original sculpture, I used gray primer. because I want to find some gap on original sculpture.
however, I used white primer this time. Primer is used to improve established of paints. Primer is used to improve established of paints.

It dries at once because the primer was thinly painted.
The following paint Gesso. It uses it like the stock solution. The stripe with the brush is seen. This stripe looks the final product as wooden.

The work of the undercoat was finally finished!!
Then, it is enjoyed color paint work!!!
First of all, the skin tone is painted.

The following paint the hair and clothes with the dry brush.

Details are drawn. It has come to be able to expect completion considerably.

and black line added! and FINISHED!!!!
the draft orange line used watercolor pencil. when paints are dried, The line disappears when rubbing with the brush to contain water.

New Sculpture Project [day5]

Hi folx, I'll report with clean up of resin sculptures.
To make the resin easy to remove from the silicon mold when reproducing with the resin, the silicon oil is sprayed.
It is no problem if it doesn't use with the silicon oil.
However, to make the mold of silicon last long, the silicon oil is important.
But, this silicon oil sheds even paints.

my favorite wax remover is Asahipen Wax Remover "WAX-tori". it's really awesome remover! it's very easy to use for wax remove. Moreover, because it is a neutral, the earth is not damaged with the person.

I removed 50 pieces all. My hands became clean up with removing Resin Sculpture.

New Sculpture Project [day4]

Hi Folks, How are you?
Oh kay I'll continue the posting!

I'll continue the reporting by
made with silicon mold today.
at first, added particle line line on original model.

By the way, the frame is a plastic block special for molding.
It can removes easier than Lego.

clay work was done, and I poured the silicon to frame.
The ruggedness is put on clay with the top end of a pole so that the mold may prevent the gap.
The silicon is harder 1g per main silicon 100g.
It takes about 24 hours until completely hardening though liquidity will stop in about 1 hour.

I think that you have already noticed.
The type of silicon will make single-unit in 2 days.

Yes. Both finally silicon molds were completed. It is glad somehow.
The reproduction single-mindedly work after this.

The resin was poured in silicon mold.
The resin of 44g per 1 sculpture is needed for this work.
The mixture ratio of resins is 1:1. The resin of 22g is quick mixed respectively and it pours it in the silicon mold. This resin generates heat up to about 80 degrees while mixed. And, it stiffens at about 5 minutes. Therefore, I must work very quickly.

Thus, I reproduced 30 pieces today. I'll adjust the limitation first time number to 50 pieces this time. Therefore, it is necessary to reproduce 20 pieces more!

in next time, I'll clean resin sculpture and add primer.

New Sculpture Project [day3]

Sorry for the stopped report of my nu sculpture project.
Other work of me was busy. However, I spread the primer on this sculpture.
I still chose the primer for the restoration of the car. This painting is too thick for a delicate expression, because of this primer is unsuitable. However this primer is convenient. Because when small hall was done, it become invisible by this primer.

When the primer dries enough, the sanding is done. It starts and from the #400 it finishes it up by the #1000. It's almost done, but I'll put 2nd primer work. because I want to put on like a "surface of OLD MAC body" of this sculpture.

Because it was not so fine today, spreading the primer of second was stopped.
The grain of the spray grows if it spreads it on the day when humidity is too high. Therefore, I wait for fine day.

The primer of second will be spread next time. And, Mold is made from silicon.
By the way, the speed of stiffening goes up in silicon when humidity is high at the high temperature.

New Sculpture Project [day2]

as for today, I did poly putty work on the balsa wood.
this is HOLTS POLY PUTTY for car fixing!
I love this poly putty because it's so quickly harder and nice size!

at first, I put poly putty by each parts.
poly putty became hard per 4 or 5 minute. when it was harder, I just do a sanding!

It joints by the quick glue of three parts.
There are distortion and dusting because it doesn't handle the machine. However, it doesn't worry.
Handmade goodness is in the distortion!!

It jointed.
And, poly putty is piled up further and shaping.
At this point, there are a few ruggedness and small holes, etc. , too. However, it might be OK now because it corrects it when the primer is painted after this work!!

when tomorrow is fine day, I'll splay with primer.

Start of new sculpture!

I was taking a rest from sculpture production for a while because I was busy. However, I obtained time to finally produce a new sculpture work.
As for this work, it is scheduled to reproduce with the resin, and put color with the acrylic color one by one.
It is scheduled to sell it in an online store when these are completed, and please enjoy the fabrication process until completing!

[DAY 01]
at first I did sketches...
as for this time, I am planning to make with single mold with resin.
I have actually drawn variously before these sketches. However, I will show it from this sketch this time, because there is an idea to be used next time in the sketch ;)

I think that I make the variation from paint of these. This sketch is testing for "If the ear is attached, it is sweet?" An optional, unique parts will be able to be made.

This model decided to be designed finally as a basic model. In the size, the height is about 2.5 inches.

Let's start to make!
I decided to use balsa wood. I love the balsa package of #5 by Tokyu Hands (DIY shop)!!

The block of balsa was rough shaped with QuickGlue. and cutting by knife.
Because the balsa wood is soft, the carving is easy.
after about 2hrs...

I'll post continue with next step soon!

Sketch at Ballet Studio

I went toSapporo City Ballet Studio today.
it's my first experience of visit to ballet studio.

The ballet was gracefully done though it was a child up to 15 years old.

I sketched for 90 minutes. However, I forgot to sometimes look admiringly at them and to draw.

I will sketch the ballet again if there is a chance.

I plan to meet with Neopets friends today.

my lodging is location in downtown this time.
It is possible to go from Hollywood to Glendale by one bus. However, it is necessary to change a few buses from the downtown to Glendale.

This town is a spectacle that is done the division maintenance well and is very beautiful.
We ate lunch in Mexican in a big shopping mall named Americana. Everyone did a lively, happy conversation always.

Shane is always doing the drawing. He was drawing even in the paper place mat of the table.

I returned to Americana after the meal. And, I drank coffee while reading. I have inadvertently dozed because it is very warm.
I wanted to go to the gallery in Glendale. However, it was not possible to go because the bus had not come.

A lot of pumpkins were sold! Because it soon will be Halloween!!
An orange pumpkin make me happy feelings.

I ask to shop guy "May I take a picture?" I took a picture a lot because I had answered, "Of course". hehehe

These small pumpkins were the loveliest series.

I only went to Glendale and came back. However, when having returned, 8 PM had been passed.

Supper tonight ate a breast of the chicken and hot Sand of beef with Deli of Ralph 's.
I do not think that the amount is too large. However, it was not able to eat everything completely. Has my stomach become small?

It was scheduled to go to the gallery in Glendale in today's schedule and to do business. However, the connection of the bus was not able not to go well and to go. And, it was not possible to go to the Kitty show. It is regrettable.
I will go to the Kitty show of Royal-T again tomorrow, and go to the gallery show of MonkyHouse after that.
The number of buses decreases on Saturday.
It is necessary to do an efficient plan because length-of-stay is short this time.

P.S.
I'll participate to "Vintage poster show" in Los Angeles in end of this year.

Autumn US Tour 2009 [day00]

'Three Apples’ Exhibit Celebrates All Things Hello Kitty For 35th Anniversary running from October 23 to November 15 at Royal/T in Culver City, CA. I visited America because I had been invited to VIP party of this show.

I decided the visit to America one week ago. Therefore, it was not a situation in which the air ticket and the stay destinations were able to be chosen. However, it managed to obtain the airline ticket. (Special Thanks for my Great Manager : Kiyo!!)

It drew because there was a small bird at Narita's waiting time though it was an airport.

It's the morning about 10:30 that I arrived at Los Angeles. The passport control and Baggage Claim were very smooth this time.

The hotel is a Figueroa hotel in the downtown. I haven't seen you for a long time. This hotel is used well as location with the movie and the TV drama in the indoor scene of an ethnical style.

The seat monitor of the airplane was out of order. In addition, four children were in a front seat.And, with the man of the left and lights the reading light. I was not able to sleep for that. Therefore, when it reached the hotel in Los Angeles at last, it took a nap at once for two hours.

It's a hamburger if i's said the United States after all.If it doesn't first eat this hamburger, English cannot be spoken well.
I ordered the fish dish and the salad. The half size of the United States is a full size of Japan. ummmmm....

Supper was finished, and I moved to the Culver city by taxi. The time required and the charge are almost proportional to the taxi of Los Angeles. It was almost 20 dollars because the time required to the destination was 20 minutes this time.

Here is the first maid cafe in the west coast. Terribly cute girls were very kind.
The outside of the hall and the inside had come until the person overflowed!

The organizer said, "More people come to the public opening".
The number of exhibitions is about 80 works. It became very good study for me.

Moreover, the layout and the exhibition method of the hall became references very much.
Some sculptures were exhibited. This work was very popular especially.

Artist's individuality is demonstrated enough as for any work. It is a really happy show.

Three Apples (an exhibition celebrating Hello Kitty)

Three Apples (an exhibition celebrating Hello Kitty) will be holding in 23th/October to 15th November at Los Angeles / U.S.A.
When I visited Los Angeles in summer, the participation offer of this show was received. Then, I exhibited the canvas work painted with the acrylic color and the sculpture made with the resin and poly putty.
These works can be seen in the exhibition. There is no publishing permission in the photograph to our regret yet. Therefore, after the 23rd, the photograph will be able to be shown. sorry!

The participating artist to this show has already been announced. Akiko Masuda and I participate from my studio. And, participation has been decided to Yumiko Kayukawa from Sapporo. It is very glad that three artists in the same town can meet in Los Angeles!!

VIP party is held on the night of the day before the public.　A lot of artist friends of me are participating. I might be able to meet popular artists in the west coast such as Gary Baseman,Amanda Visell and Simone Legno, etc..
The Exhibit hall is Royal/T. it is very hot and popular spot in Los Angeles area now. haha and It's Maid Cafe... as for me, it's first experience to visit Maid Cafe!!

As for Sapporo of this season, there are a lot of days of the strong wind. It seems to fly if the umbrella is opened when it rains on the day with a strong wind. However, how is it wonderful if it's possible to fly as freely as Mary Poppins over the sky?

World Wide Sketch Crawl

I participated in the sketch crawl.

We decided to sketch in the Maruyama zoo in Sapporo this time.
The admission fee is an adult 600 yen in this zoo, and Year Passport is 1,000 yen a year. Therefore, Year Passport is affordable when coming another times or more during year. Moreover, this zoo is in the place of about ten minutes from my studio.

This zoo is baby rush of Twins (Tiger, pola bear, snow lepard...) from last year.

Sapporo has already become the scenery of autumn. The next sketch crawl worries about whether it is possible to do in outdoor.

I sketched the animal after a long time. Because the animal is not quiet, easily it becomes training of the sketch.

This flying squirrel was moving about energetically in daytime.

These are my take...

It's a lesser panda that drew first. It's possible to be healed only by seeing. The tail seems to be terribly soft. I want to touch.

Apparently, the kangaroo seems to stand up when watching it. When I was going to sketch, everyone stood up.

Squirrel monkey's movement is very fast. Therefore, it was difficult to draw. However, they curious come to peep at the sketch when I am quietly drawing about five minutes in one place.

The monkey mountain can be seen from the rest place with the glass. The monkey can be terribly seen in the vicinity.

The giraffe is popular among children. A lot of children gathered and it sketched.

I see the tube top tapir's pattern.When the tapir is made animation, they are sure to wear the tube top. hahaha

The lion is sleeping well. However, it's active today. I drew the lion that was moving for the first time.

The most much crowding in this zoo is this snow leopard's corner. Twins is always playing each other. They are serious to draw them. Because movement are so quickly!!

Here is polar bear's Twins. He loves polyethylene tanks. He is the same also in water as this polyethylene tank.

There is these child crocodilians' booths when entering the reptiles pavilion. it's very cute for train kids alligators.

We are 8 peoples oprty this time. (with 2 kids)
Sapporo will become a cold season soon. Therefore, I will do a lot of sketches in autumn in outdoor.

I painted final works of Background.
I used Brown Pencil of Derwent for main line. and I put color with water color paint of Winsor & Newton.

Derwent Drawing (Terracotta 6400) is dark anber (dark brown) soft color pencil. it is very smooth to drawing! it' my favorite!!!
When I draw usual Doodle, I used Derwent Drawing (MarsOrange 6210) for primary line. after this, I draw Black line with Faber-Castel PITT OIL BASE Extara Soft Black 112601

then, I finished background paint.
as for this time, I used Watson paper. it is nice base for water color.

I'll keep painting. I'll post next step soon.

I still expand material and am doing doodling. hehehe
The detail is not decided easily. Then, some still are drawn.

It decided it to making the background a town. However, the match with other backgrounds decided to be tested.

As for the plant arranged in this side and the interior, the tree is good and the flower is good. ummmm I can't decided yet.....

Design of the girl who is sitting on interior.
I drew four patterns with different atmosphere.

And, it is rough craft that here made from the miniature (1/2 sizes).

I will select the design reconsideration and the material (painting materials) in the building next time.

Hello There, Long time!
so sorry for not update this blog...
as for me, I'm OK. but I still have little headache everyday...ummmm

I am doing some doodles for 2.5 dimensional artwork.

It deformed it for a moment too much. hehehe
Then, I sketched the cat. And, it drew comparatively by light deformation.

next, I doodled wood.
I think it is better for cartoonstyle for my artwork.

It's necessary to note it. because it becomes an image in space and the future if here is deformed too much!!

It this time thought about the town and the entire layout.
I want to draw that I felt comfortable wind in this artwork.

I decided to make 1/2 size miniature.
It's necessary to divide into some parts to make the work that feels depth.

The table, the chair, and the flower are arranged forward.
Therefore, it drew individually.

I think about some patterns as for the background.
Idea that person is walking here in front of big signboard of movie.

However, I will make "Town" that is an original idea a background.
Therefore, the idea in a few building was sketched.

I have not decided which painting materials to still adopt.

She got up early this morning. And, she went to a favorite flower garden.

Today was the day of #22 World Wide Sketch Crawl.
Our Sapporo Group also went to sketch.

Today is Fineday here. but too much cold and windy today!!!

MunkyKing is very populer art toy shop in California / Los Angeles.
They will hold DIY PUSHER SHOW in 26.Marty - 12.April.
This PUSHER of art toy was designed by Thomas Hans. it's cute custom base sculpture.

I received the offer from MunkyKing. then I decided try to make my PUSHER.

This is the Original PUSHER.

as for me, I planed this Rabit type PUSHER.

There seemed to be a wide mouth in this sculpture when I saw PUSHER for the first time.

I dismantled all original parts. PUSHER is composed of such parts.
Left parts are parts of the face that can be exchanged.

Modification of PVC (vinyl material) is difficult.
Then, I decided to start from work to replace this PUSHER with the resin.

Preparation for operation first of all. The tear off along dotted line is drawn.

It cuts it with a cutter and an electric saw at a dash.
It seems to have dismantled a Thanksgiving turkey.

The head was cut into 2 parts. And, the body was divided into 4 parts.

Cut parts are sunk in silicon.
The silicon of the mold will be completed in about almost 12 hours (over night).

The resin is reproduced from this silicon type only once this time. Therefore, it's very easy to make silicon mold.

Original parts are pulled out from among the silicon mold. The amount of the content is measured by water.
Because PVC is a midair, the amount of the content is little.

Because mold is used only once, it's comfortable. hahaha
It doesn't worry even if the resin leaks somewhat. hehehe

These are reproduction of the resin that this pulled out.
It's low accuracy and there is no problem because there is no influence in modification even if air enters or there is somewhat gap.

"Softer PVC" was able to be replaced with "Harder resin" by this way.

Then, let's rebuild the reproduction.
it's very simple. A temporary detainment is done with quick glue in the beginning.
It undergoes plastic operation with the polypatty after that.
Bonding improves when Quick Glue is put in the polypatty a little.

One foot was cut at this stage. And, the foot was lengthened with the styrene board and the patty.
Moreover, the mouth cuts out to open it greatly and undergoes plastic operation on the intraoral with the styrene board.

Because the shape of an original arm did not match to my design, then I decided to make original arm. A plastic stick is used for the core. And, it undergoes plastic operation little by little with the polypatty.

The polypatty is a patty with high liquidity. However, when stiffening starts, it becomes a grainy. The bindieye like such a starfish can be done as a result.

The surface was cleaned with about the 400th sandpapers, and the body became such shape.
Parts of the ear and small parts such as tongues and teeth are made from the styrene board.

I made the plinth.
Concrete is put in the core and weight is adjusted.
The first surfacer was spread.
It becomes easy to find the ruggedness by surfacer of the gray.

When the ruggedness is found, the sanding is done. And, Surfacer is spread again. This repetition is done several times.

This is the 2nd Surfacer works.

It is easy for Suefacer of the gray to find the ruggedness. However, the color darkens when a light color is spread further.

Then, white surfacer is sprayed on surfacer of this gray.

The whole content of the work of pincers is imaginable in this.

Painting works.
I love to use TAMIYA COLOR (Acrylic)
It's cheaper, but there are a lot of colors and nice colors.

Masking was done dividing into some. It colored with the airbrush.
